This is an excellent full-day tour that lets you explore an enormous part of the Copper Canyon system in just one full day. We’ll take you into Copper Canyon and out the other side to see some amazing views of the far away Batopilas Canyon. We’ll go through several different climate zones today from the upper sierra where pine and oak forests abound, through the deciduous forest of the middle lands so be sure to wear layers of clothing.

We’ll start the day by driving to the farthest point on the tour to see the overlook of Batopilas Canyon. During the drive, we’ll pass through Basihuare, Humira and Copper Canyons, pausing at overlooks and for photographs as we go along.

If you’ve chosen to add in our Amigo Perfect Picnic for your outing today, then you’ll enjoy your picnic lunch with table and chairs somewhere along the way at a nice spot. Your driver will find a place that is perfect for dining and viewing at the lake or a perhaps a nearby forest or stream. Or you may prefer a more simple, but still wholesome lunch with our Box Lunch instead. Choose to add in either option during the check-out process.

As we make our way back towards Creel after a day of viewing canyons, we’ll stop off at the Cusarare Waterfall and Mission if time permits. Lake Arareko is about 5 miles (8 km) outside of Creel and means “horseshoe” in the Rarármuri language. This lovely lake was originally man-made to be used as a reservoir for Creel. It is used now mainly for paddle boat rides and weekend cook-outs by the locals. We’ll stop here as well if we make it back before sunset.

Note: This tour requires one to be capable of walking 500 meters from the parking area to the waterfall and back again over uneven trails and going up and down several sets of stairs along the trail.
